If your ceilings are higher than 8 feet you may want to consider installing the pendant light higher than 40 inches over the counter. The pendants are supposed to be task lighting over the sink counter so theres one in front of each window and the sink is centered under the two windows. You would usually want more for a kitchen and bathroom than you would for a living room or a bedroom.
